Funky Martha Honeywell Silhouette


I did not know Honeywell was a Hungarian (LOL). This item was withdrawn from an auction. Luckily, I saved the photo and the auctioneer's description. Perhaps it will reappear after the error has been corrected.


Item Description: SILHOUETTE - Cut Paper Profile of George Woltz, cabinet maker born 1744 in York, PA. by M.A. Honeywell (1785-1845), marked 'Cut by a Hungarian with the mouth'. The Artist was born without hands and cut her paper by holding the scissors in her teeth. George Woltz built Lots 87, 90, and 95. In gold and black molded frame, glazed, SS: 3 1/4" x 2 1/2", OS: 4 1/2" x 3 1/2", cracked at bottom.
